So we've got quite the wintery weather upon us now. If I don't find a solution to the problem I created yesterday I'm going to be in a world of hurt. 95% of my trees have kindly shed their leaves..........unfortunately leaf vacuuming from the pool is a catch-22. Too early and the leaves aren't degraded enough to pull through the hoses/traps. Too late and the bio-mass degrades and the entire pool becomes too dark to work with. A gorgeous weekend in November mandated I get my fall-ish work completed in a timely manner. Unfortunately this puts me in situation 1 of my catch-22. Clogging. Three drain bladders later ( you should hear these things blow), I have a fully clogged pump system, a pending freeze, a pump that needs to be backwashed and an ever-quickly blackening pool. I've got all the pump timers turned off (it hurts me to hear the pump try and pull water when it's that clogged) but am at risk of my thermometer automatically activating the pump when it drops below 37F. If it doesn't, it's at risk of freezing which will cause the pipes to freeze and...........I definitely can't afford to dig up the decking to fix pipes.
Time to call in the experts. Bye bye Xmas fund.
