Required Reading

Just finished "Big Lies". A must read and requires passing on when completed. I am now devouring "Thieves in High Places" and "Pigs at the Trough". Tonight we go see Molly Ivins and get a copy of "Bushwhacked". Hopefully the rugrat will allow us the freedom to get it signed as well.

All this non-fiction........anyone have a good piece of fiction (beyond a White House press release) they can recommend for beach reading? Need something less heavy for vacation.

I'll pass on my wife's recommendation to me . . . _Seabiscuit_. I was surprised when she bought it because she's just that interested in sports, and I thought it was a horse-racing book. But it's not a sports book, as in a _North Dallas Forty_ for horses. It's a very, very well written book.

If you're feeling adventuresome, try Steve Martin's new book, _Pleasure of My Company_. It's short . . . but, hey, let's get small. I'm picking it up today.

I'm reading _The World in 1800_ by Olivier Bernier which is an interesting but on the light side. I mean, when the author writes that Napoleon could have been an excellent interior decorator, you know you're in for an interesting perspective on history.

"Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand is a roaring read, and you might learn something. Or you can just read that loon Molly Ivins and try to figure out if she has a point. :)

Picked up the Steve Martin book and the short story compilation by Nick Hornby....that plus the LOTR box set should hold me. Thanks for the suggestions.
