God's
Own
Party..........and boy ain't he proud.
The Medicare Reform Bill passed in the Senate. One more pork-laden piece of legislation ram-rodded through Congress, that stands to provide more benefits to the HMO's, doctors and pharmaceutical companies than it does the people that need the reform the most. From the Washington Post, "At several points in recent weeks, when opposition was voiced to controversial legislation, congressional leaders simply increased the price." How can the party of "less government and fiscal responsibility" continue on at this rate and keep touting the success of the tax reductions they've initiated?
How will history judge the legacy of this administration after they've left office, be it in 2004 or 2008 (even if the history books are written in Texas)?
- The Economy?
- The Environment?
- The Wall Street cleanup?
- Job Creation?
- Civil Rights?
Or, are we all going to be sitting around in a couple of years scratchin' our heads, trying to figure out how the hell we were suckered into funding a pre-emptive war based primarily on lies? Will we be angry with ourselves, knowing full well, the primary contractors, all had relationships with White House staff, were provided no-compete clauses and carte-blanche licenses to price-gouge? Do we, as a nation really care enough about the blatent abuses of power to vote the incumbents out of office or will we roll-over and just "take it" like the Democrats have done in the House and Senate since 9-11?
