All In a Day's Work

Stats: (3 of us working)

  • Knocked on approximately 60 apartment doors.
  • Immediately registered 12 people.
  • Handed out 20+ voter registration cards.
  • Registered the ice cream man.
  • Added many new people to the precinct activity rolls.
  • Provided voter education to former felons.

In under 3 of the best hours I've spent all week. Making a difference feels good.

Sunday -- one hour outside the grocery store -- registered 12 people -- including the employee who came out to tell me I needed to get on the store calendar if I wanted to stand around registering voters.

Keys to success:
**Target grocery stores near low-income housing.
**Even if they think they are registered, ask if they've updated their information since their last move.
**Get their phone numbers so you can remind them when and where to vote.
