It ain't over til it's over and that is - at the earliest - going to be 2am in Ohio. Did we have any doubt that there would be monkey bidness in Onio and Florida? Ain't no way that Chimp has "won" either. The fix is in Dude! Read about it here:

Don't give up! (I'm listening to Peter Gabriel sing that as I type this!)

Statement from Kerry Campaign Manager Mary Beth Cahill on Ohio
Boston, MA – Kerry-Edwards campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill released the following statement:
“The vote count in Ohio has not been completed. There are more than 250,000 remaining votes to be counted. We believe when they are, John Kerry will win Ohio.”

I have to say i'm not optimistic either. Although i have to say there is a glimmer at the end of the tunnel. But it looks to me like Bush has again bamboozled an election. Although this time it isn't through voting issues (as far as i know). What he has won it on this time is the overt and not so subtle misleading of the American people. I mean for Christ's sake Republicans were ready to crucify Clinton because he lied about his personal life. Bush just outright lies and America follows like a lamb led to the slaughter.
Did anyone see our buddy Guilianni saying Kerry should stop dragging his feet and concede. But as i recall it was Bush who had to drag his feet to get the recounts (that would have made Al Gore the president) stopped. I think Kerry should be entitled to wait a day or so at least!
Lastly a little polling humour for anyone interested. I was doing some shopping this afternoon and overheard a woman say why she voted for Bush. She voted for Bush because she said she couldn't stand to look at Kerry for 4 years. Go figure, people voting based on who looks better not on the issues. It's like the little girls who win the March Madness Bracket competitions by picking teams based on mascots or colors! Is that how we want to elect a president?
Good Morning all!

Bush is up by 3.5 million votes on the popular side becoming the first President since Reagan to win a clear majority of the popular vote.
Let's all be adult about this. Let's not drag this into a name calling and insulting discussion. The woman who voted for Bush because she couldn't stand to look at Kerry for 4 years is no different than the person who voted for Kerry because of an abject hatred towards President Bush.
Bush didn't steal this election. He won it. Fair and square? No, I don't think the election was fair and square on either side and it only takes a short precursory look at factcheck.org to see the deception from both sides (parties and 527's alike).
Now, let's be good Americans and agree to get along for 4 years, work towards the common good of this country and the world, and spend less time on vitriolic bitter attacks and more time on what we can do as patriots to make this country better.
Posted by: Andy at November 3, 2004 12:49 AMOops.. since Bush 41 .. not Reagan.
Posted by: Andy at November 3, 2004 03:48 AMName-calling? Patriots? Bush is a weasel.

Spare us the platitudes, Andy, they're as empty as they were coming out of GWB's mouth four years ago when he promised to be a uniter, not a divider.
All this election has done is make 52% of the people in this country accomplices to the high crimes of this accursed administration.
To hell with your "agreeing to get along" while a bloodthirsty cryptofascist and his moron majority run roughshod over everything I believe in. I will not take the blue pill; I will not drink the Kool-Aid. I will not abandon science for superstition. I will not trade integrity for corruption. I will not forsake justice for greed. I will not accept lies as truth. I will not choose evil over good. If unity requires such things, then let us remain eternally divided.
Posted by: Peter Dubuque at November 3, 2004 04:15 AMOh get over yourself, Andy. What parallel universe are you living in? Check the morning papers:
"Mark Weaver, the chief Republican attorney in Ohio, said he was pleased that it appeared that Bush had prevailed in the Buckeye State. However, he quickly added that it appeared that the president's margin of victory would be less than the number of provisional ballots that have been cast, which would mean that the result would not be finalized for at least 10 days.
Both sides agreed it would take a while for Ohio to straighten out the vote.
Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell said on CNN that if the margin of victory in Ohio is less than the number of provisional ballots, "everyone should take a deep breath and relax" because those provisional ballots won't be counted for at least 10 days under Ohio law.
In the meantime, Blackwell said local election officials would start examining the envelopes in which the provisional ballots were cast and use the information to try to reconcile them with other information provided by the voter to determine whether the ballots are valid and should be counted.
When Blackwell was asked why the ballots would not be counted sooner, he responded: "That's the law."
Under Ohio law, county election officials cannot start counting provisional ballots until Nov. 13. Since that is a Saturday this year, some election officials indicated that at least in some counties the tallying would not begin until Monday, Nov. 15.
Ohio Gov. Robert Taft, a Republican, earlier indicated that he thought that there would be more than 98,000 provisional votes this year.
If it is necessary to count the provisional votes and the margin narrows, that could precipitate a recount. Under Ohio law, if the candidates are separated by one-quarter of a percentage point or less, there automatically would be a recount."
I don't think either "side" wants this to be another Florida. Times have changed since the 2000 election. Long gone are the days when we could wake up on Nov. 3rd and actually know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, who won the election. Every U.S. citizen wants to know the truth - not some spin from any media source or marketing campaign.
So take Mr. Blackwell's advice, take a deep breath and relax. This could be a while.
If anyone would like to hear what the Andy is saying before he says it, you can go listen to Mark Davis on Dallas Radio, I think 810, also Hannity and Carlson.
Isn't %50 more than %42 and %8? Don't give us that percentage crap becuase there was no third candidate running. If anything this will give the Democrats a chance to remove thier heads from the clouds and become a party of the people.
Its all but over now, the sun will set tonight, and we will bomb the crap out of Fallujah. Think of it this was, the Democrats didn't offer an alternative and they still received 48% of the vote. Not Bad, eh? Running a NE Elitist controlled by corporate interests, the Republicans were unstoppable! (I personally think Bush is too liberal, and a pussy)
At least I voted so now I can rightfully bitch about him.
Posted by: CB at November 3, 2004 04:46 AMHoly cow... CB - First of all I don't listen to 810. I rarely listen to Hannity. I listen to Air America more than I listen to conservative talk radio but find it amusing how out of step with reality the left really is. And I agree that Bush isn't the best man for the job, but he was the man running for the job.
Thank you Peter and Lulu for biting. You have proven my very point. Now it's time to admit defeat and to get over yourselves. Liberals lost everywhere, not just for the White House. So apparently the parallel universe I live in of core conservative beliefs driven by a desire to serve a higher being for the good of man is one that many of us live in, making me wonder what parallel universe you are in.
And I hope one day the Democratic party does pull their collective heads out of their butts and they realize the left wing of their party is what keeps them from being the "party of the people."
It takes both sides to be divided and I don't subscribe to the petty one-sided attack from the left that Bush is the divider. I have no registered political alliances and voted split-ticket down my ballot. I voted for the best man, not the best ideology, not the best party, but the best man for each position.
At least with Bush's victory the left has something to continue to misdirect their hatred at for four years and that keeps them busy at something that truly doesn't accomplish their end goals.
True enough, Andy. I should have known better than to respond to someone like you. I posted facts from the news and you suddenly know who I am and what I'm about? Obviously a waste of my time. Silly me for thinking you might be a reasonable sort.
So you go on a feel superior and good about yourself. Feel like a winner. But it's like winning the special olympics. Even though you win, you're still retarded.
Posted by: Lulu at November 3, 2004 05:23 AMEz, we can't change the outcome. Kerry conceded, so its over. More of the same, I guess we have to wait till something breaks to fix it.
Maybe Bush can take all those scientists working to go to Mars and get them to give us a car that doesn't use gas!
Anyone who thinks that they should be celebrating this victory, just ask yourself one question, besides the $300 he gave us when he got into office, what has he done for you?
Expect the same. (except the check)
Posted by: CB at November 3, 2004 05:29 AMA true measurement of personal character can be seen in a statement like "But it's like winning the special olympics. Even though you win, you're still retarded." How pitiful it is that one would compare a discussion on politics to the Special Olympics. Even more pitiful is that one would resort to referring to those who compete in the Special Olympics as retarded in such a betittling manner. And the left is the compassionate bunch? Silly me for thinking you might be a reasonable sort.

Again Andy, you really need to get over yourself.
