Coalition of the "Hell No"

What seems like a no-brainer is apparently required.

Alberto Gonzales should not be confirmed, period. There's nothing that indicates he not also in favor of the use of torture methods on our citizens. Picking up the Ashcroft mantle and furthering the cause of civil right restriction contradicts the empty platitudes on freedom and reduces our credibility internationally.

The best Bush could come up with as an argument to why he should be confirmed was this pitiful little tid-bit.

THE PRESIDENT: Listen, Al Gonzales reflects our policy, and that is we don't sanction torture. He will be a great Attorney General, and I call upon the Senate to confirm him.
