Chronic Candor

mini-screed

It becomes painfully obvious how pale the blue is in my blood red district when in the Democratic primary runoff, 9 precints are merged for voting and at 5:30pm, the total number of voters (including mine) was 45. Only 45 people bothered to show up. Not only are the Democrats hard to find... they're bloody friggin' lazy as well. Pitiful. Good news is that Barbara Ann Radnofsky won against "Mr. Soft Shoe".

housecleaning

* Old news, but it's a refreshing breath of air to read an Annie comeuppance.

* Did the rules change recently and Congress is officially neutered and it's now solely up to the President whether or not we go to war against Iran? Not one pundit I've seen counters Bush's swagger with a "well, he's going to need a vote from Congress to proceed"... just a vague assumption that his word is final. Fear this.

* New Word: Declassivenience: v. to change the status of government documents or intelligence just long enough to misuse them for political purpose but not long enough for a FOIA to get a copy.

* The SCLM again, Joe Klein episode.

* Republicans, a divided party?

* If anybody else screwed up this badly at a high profile job, they'd be out on their butts in a heartbeat. 30 Helens, agree.3

* Agnew, Cheney.
