Johnny Hart should have retired years ago. He's long since given up on steam-era notions such as "wit" or "clever punchlines" and now it seems that he's fired his proofreader, too.

It goes without saying that the joke doesn't work, but even the author of Mallard Fillmore manages to keep track of who is in the scene from one panel to the next.
