What level of twisted perverse logic has to be applied, to repeatedly vote to continue the war in Iraq with no planned or desired endpoint? Is the House and Senate (especially for the majority) such an insular bubble that they're unable to see how successful they've been? For every manufactured justification for pre-emptive shock and awe, they have results they can point to. Guees, it makes some sense, given the degree to which they seem myopically challenged. We're in year 4 now of the conflict and they've yet to budget appropriately.

Justifications for Iraq:

• WMDs: Found em. Didn't find em. Either way, don't we feel safer now?
• Removal of Saddam: Killed the boys, found dad in a spider hole and taunted him with a public display of his delousing. How can we as a country not feel safer with him gone?
• Mission Accomplished:major confict declared over The war was over years ago. All other skirmishes, infractions, bombing sorties, midnight raids or insurgent gunfights are all minor conflicts. Dramatic results in the effort to make us all feel safer.
• Freedom Installed: If the Iraqis don't understand by now how free they are, there's nothing else we can do, short of water-boarding it into them, that their lives are theirs to live now. Even they should feel safer now.
• Democratic Elections : Just like the fair and equitable way the US election process works to ensure all eligible participants are represented during each election cycle, we have installed Democracy 2.0 in Iraq bug-free and full of safe-T.

Maybe the issue with Iraq standing up is that we're sitting on their lap.
