Taking its Toll

Texas' Politics never ceases to amaze.

After taking thousands in campaign contributions from the Zachry family for her campaign, one tough Bush Cabinet momma gets an 'A' from the anti-TTC Corridor Watch team while Chris Bell gets a 'C'.

The one organization who's done more to stop the TTC's evolution and shed some sunshine on a highly cloaked land grab, gives high marks to the candidate in this year's gubernatorial race whose behavior is a very close second to the damage inflicting incumbent.

How does this happen? Are the winds of change so strong that they blow the recent past out to sea or can one little comment, blown way out of proportion by an opposition blog actually have such enormous an impact?

Chris' position on the TTC at this point, which may be the reason he received a mediocre grade, can only be just that, a position. Until such time as we the voters elect him to serve us (and not large corporations & foreign conglomerates) we can only go by what he's said and committed to.

I don't think his position could be any clearer than Carole's unless she changes her mind and switches to another party or decides to give her direct donations back, renounces all her bad accounting and apologizes for Scott.

We're barely two weeks away from one of the most important elections in Texas' recent history. Don't let the noise impact your focus.
