Illegal immigration has roiled and rallied communities around the nation, from Farmers Branch, Texas, to Farmingville, New York.
But what role do immigrants – both legal and illegal – play in the Texas and national economies?
In June, 500-plus economists, including some from Dallas-area universities, sent a letter to President Bush and Congress. They said they were concerned that some of the "fundamental economics of immigration are too often obscured by misguided commentary."
