Remember how cool it was when the Church held all the truths? When they controlled the translations, interpretations and printing of the Bible. When mass was held exclusively in a language no one spoke. Wasn't it cool to have the inside track and watch the confusion on the faces of the plebes?
There is a reason the unchurched are not impressed by our theological vocabulary and our holy dialect. It’s not because they don’t understand it. It’s because they can’t.
Nah. Our underimpressionistic nature's not driven by a lack of understanding. We're just simply unwilling to speak exclusively in a codified manner with hint of the old King's English, trying to appear aloof while still holding onto interpreted myths declared as absolute truths.
We do though, miss the whole "meek will inherit the earth" concept though... can you help us understand why it's been jettisoned?
