Because reinvesting in America is UnAmerican?

The Queen of Scream hates the thought of spending... now that it's not her party doing it.

All Americans who work for a living, or who plan to work for a living sometime in the next century, are about to be stuck with a trillion-dollar bill to fund yet more oppressive government bureaucracies. Or as I call it, a trillion dollars and change.

The stimulus bill isn't as bad as we had expected -- it's much worse. Instead of merely creating useless, make-work jobs digging ditches -- or "shovel-ready," in the Democrats' felicitous phrase -- the "stimulus" bill will create an endless army of government bureaucrats aggressively intervening in our lives. Instead of digging ditches, American taxpayers will be digging our own graves.

Meanwhile, the President's fiscal year 2009 budget proposes an additional $70 billion in war-related spending, on top of the $102.4 billion the Administration continues to pursue for fiscal year 2008. The amount requested for fiscal year 2009 is merely a placeholder for the first few months of next fiscal year, vastly underestimating what would be required to continue the war in Iraq at the current level of involvement. The administration plans to seek additional funding for fiscal year 2009 in the Spring. The Iraq war has thus far cost $522 billion.

So, Republican logic is... spending recklessly is arguable and justifed if you're attacking a manufactured enemy or handing it wantonly to executives with no oversight, but damn you if you reinvest or attempt to reinvest in America directly. This goes beyond simply being a partisan hack who's only goal is to be an obstructionist... the party that self-swaddles in the flag is repeatedly giving the bird to the American voter, his/her welfare and the economy.

That's bile in the back of your throat in case you were curious.
