Let's see, I'll be stuck

Let's see, I'll be stuck in a hotel room somewhere in the heart of America Tuesday night. Maybe I just buy a fifth of something and watch the State of the Union.

Quick entry

God Bless him...oh wait, maybe only in special circumstances......or maybe not at all. How many side of his mouth does he have to talk out of?

Looking to waste some time?

Nothing but fluff. Dallas is

Nothing but fluff.

Dallas is about to embark on the best use of tax dollars *ever*.

I don't subscribe to the notion that award shows are worth wasting my time over........especially since all I need to know is summed up the next morning. I also don't regard myself as a fashion maven by any stretch of the imagination.....I do however, know taste when I see it. My comments on the attire from last night's Golden Globes are as follows;

- "Who told Debra Messing it was a good idea to strap hams to her thighs?"
- "Who told Laura Flynn Boyle, 'yeah honey, ya look faboo', prior to her arrival?"
- "Oh My Gawd!"
- "Kim, you're aging.....it's not pretty."

ok, one piece of not so fluffy. can we get him to finish out in say, Iraq?

National Sanctity of Human Life

National Sanctity of Human Life Day? Too bad this doesn't apply to born children. As Barney Frank says, " 'Conservatives' interest in life begins at conception and ends at birth."

This just in. Kofi Anan

This just in.

Kofi Anan announces war on Iraq unnecessary. Hopped up fly-boys bomb UN in response. Bush, confused, thought the military budget increases provided better drug coverage.

Bush indicates the portion of the tax cut the middle to lower income brackets will receive, either that or he's "crushing" someone in the press corps' head.

We get to vote for

We get to vote for mayor of Dallas again this year. What fun!

I believe it's my civic duty to vote every opportunity I get. I am though, very disillusioned with the "progressive candidate" we elected to back-fill Ron Kirk last year. So much so, her support sign went out with the bulky trash this week. However, her front running opponent is, well, creepy. Who builds a website for a candidacy and omits their party affiliation? That and the skeletons keep falling out of the closet. More to come as I formulate my more informed opinion(s).

I feel so liberated.....we got

I feel so liberated.....we got baby-sittage on Saturday and I can actually say I've seen a first run movie! The Two Towers is incredible. Now I need to budget the time for my next viewing. Keeping with the LoTR theme.

My requisite political links for Monday are regarding the "liberal media" and a unique view of the new "economic" plan.

Added a new feature for the site, scanned crap. Most of it will be relevant to nothing and either just flat weird or something that caught my eye and needed documenting. Comments will be added if required. Hopefully I can spend some quality time on it as I've got a ton of little odd items in multiple scrapbooks that need an audience.

Not so much a New

Not so much a New Year's resolution as it is an "about friggin' time". 21+ years of supporting a bad habit and being a social pariah.

My personal twelve step program:

step one
step two
step three
step four
step five
step six
step seven
step eight
step nine
step ten
step eleven

In case historical parallels are

In case historical parallels are too obscure, please let this draw them for you. War is not inevitable?

Are we all as giddy over the possible tax cuts being proposed as Shrubby wants us to be? Has anyone benefitted from or been paid a dividend in the last 3 or so years? Is the market doing so well that cutting taxes now will suddenly infuse our economy with vast waves of cash? Hardly. Nice balance though, to the end of year dismissal of unemployment extensions.........it does feel like the early eighties all over again. Yesterday our lackluster prez uttered the phrase 'trickle down' in respect to cutting taxes for the wealthy and it's impact on the entire country.

In keeping with the tax theme.......

non-sequitorial thought/thank you................

Thank you Brooke for the totally cool bib(s) for Toby. I am of course 100% biased in that she put my "logo" on a bib for my kid. Now he can drool on my face both figuratively and literally.

Thought The holidays are over

The holidays are over and now normalcy may reign supreme! I am convinced that no matter how much my customer beats me up, yells at me or slanders my mediocre name, my job will never be as difficult to manage as that of a stay-at-home parent. I'm exhausted. We need to buy Toby a little pink bunny suit and a drum.......he truly is, the Energizer Bunny. He finds naps to simply be a waste of the time he could be spending hauling ass through the house dragging half the kitchen cabinet's contents behind him.

Today's randomness:

- Concise listing of all the drivel the "liberal media" been dumping into the feeding trough of the lowest common denominator.
- Probably about 50% scatalogical in nature but interesting reading.
- Single source for hidden cravings.

First quiz of the new year.
